| Tsuruoka City has become the stage of many movies. For example, Rie Miyazawa's and Somegoro Ichikawa's recent ones. The original novels for both movies are by Shuhei Fujisawa, one of the famous novelists in Japan. The beauty of its rural scenery, which is Fujisawa's home, is also being described in other literature masterpieces.
